PZL SW-4

The PZL SW-4 is a single turbine, light, multipurpose helicopter designed to carry up to 5 persons (one pilot, four paxe) under day and night VFR.
Helicopter is designed with compliance to JAR-27 and FAR-27 (through amendment 27- 37) regulations. Certificate no. BC-217 has been issued by Polish Civil Aviation Office in accordance with JAR-27. The helicopter has a conventional rotor system and is powered by single Rolls-Royce 250 C20-R/2(SP) engine. The helicopter has a fully articulated three blade main rotor and two-blade tail rotor. All blades are of glass-fiber-epoxy.
The structural components of the airframe are constructed of aluminum alloys and fiberglass-epoxy. The cabin is made from carbon and glass fibers in epoxy matrix and ultra light foam fillers. The central fuselage is of a stressed box construction made from honeycomb sandwich panels. Therefore it was possible to provide enough stiffness for the fuel tank cell and to attach main gearbox mounting.
Engine
The PZL SW-4 helicopter is equipped with single Rolls-Royce Allison 250-C20R/2 engine with take-off power of 336kW (457HP).
Interior


Access to the main cabin area is through aft sliding doors on each side of the fuselage with a forward hinged door panel forward of each sliding door giving access to the cockpit area. Such a door arrangement without an intervening mounting post between the doors enables easy and convenient access to the whole cabin in all versions of the PZL SW-4.

Baggage compartment

The AC fuselage is of a semi-monocoque construction. It houses a large baggage compartment of 0,85 m3 volume and a radio bay.Skid landing gear.
